I’ve walked by these birdhouses for years and not really paid much attention to them. Today, I thought I’d take a picture of each one. Each birdhouse highlights a species common on the state park property.
Last year, there was a nesting pair of Peregrine Falcons up on the cliff ledges. The local bird societies were keeping track of their babies and documented the fledglings as they made their first flights. I was actually there that day and I could hear the young Peregrines crying and complaining as they were coaxed out of the trees by the parents. I guess adolescents of any species can be a bit whiny. 🙂
