I was fortunate enough to attend the Charlotte Quilt Event this year. The Charlotte Convention Center dedicated their entire lower level to this event. I walked through acres of vendors booths selling fabric, patterns, notions and other items fiber related.
Demonstrations of long arm quilting machines were crowded and it was exciting to get to try one out myself. A long arm machine goes on my “I want it” list. One of the long arm-era was totally computerized with hands free operation. Load the quilt top, quilt backing and batting and punch the design into the machine and it quilts automatically.
There were dozens of sewing machine vendors. The embroidery machine demonstrations were crowded too. It appears that embroidered blocks are all the rage in quilt making.
I took dozens of pictures, but I couldn’t even scratch the surface of what was there.
