Chimney Rock

Chimney Rock Upper Stairs

It was a sunny day in the upper 30’s to lower 40’s, my favorite hiking weather.  I parked in the upper parking lot and started my hike in the middle.  First, I  climbed the stairs to the Chimney and then onto the Devil’s Head and up to Exclamation Point. It isn’t very far, but almost every step is on stairs.

My legs burned more than I wanted to admit half way up.  I need to do this more often. It is definitely a workout.  I hope it will help me ski better next week in Montana. LOL!!

Anyway, after I got back down to the parking lot, I continued down to Hickory Nut Falls. It was so peaceful. No one was on the trail but me. As I got to the falls, a large slab of ice let go from the top and crashed to the bottom.  It startled me at first because it was so loud. That was the only noise, though. So, it was nice to enjoy the quiet and solitude for just a little while.

Hiking is cheaper than therapy!
