The bears have been moved to respective places along Main Street in our little town of Hendersonville. They will spend the tourist season hanging out hoping to catch the eye of wealthy patron. At the end of the summer, these bears will be auctioned off to the highest bidder for charity.
This year, my favorite (featured upper left) is “Let’s Get Kraken” sponsored by our favorite Irish pub, Hannah Flannagan’s. He has a really neat beard and looks like Teddy Roosevelt (one of my favorite presidents). However, the “Kraken” has some stiff competition this year up against the Fazio bear (in honor of our local Fazio golf course).
New this year are the momma and baby bears. The momma bears are holding their baby in a sitting position. They seem to be sponsored by some of the area’s charitable organizations. They are the most colorful. They fit right in our little town and the tourist all seem to love them too. There are lots of photo opportunities for visiting families.
