Kitchen Granite and Stone Backsplash
The kitchen countertop granite has a lot of depth. There are veins of dark gray on cream and tans with specks of rust. The granite will coordinate nicely with the warm color of our hickory cabinets. The “room side” of the kitchen island will be faced in barn wood from Phil’s childhood farm. The gray in the granite will tie that gray color together with the warm brown tones of the rest of the cabinets, hopefully. The ivory colors in the granite looks like quartz with a crystal effect where you can see down into the granite itself. We will also use this granite in the master bathroom. The bathroom floor and shower tile will be rust colored to bring out the rust specks in the granite.
Below is a picture of our actual slab in the granite yard.
Below is a picture of the glass tile accent band (the center tile group) that will be used in the master bath shower. The color isn’t a good representation. The colors are darker and richer than the picture shows.
We chose solid hickory with a clear finish so that the character of the wood would show through. These cabinets have knots and light and dark grain. Hickory is a very hard wood so these should be durable.
Bertazzoni Professional LP Range
The wide-format range has a cooktop with six burners including a dual-ring power burner, high-efficiency burner with separately controlled flames.
The oven with gas broiler has a balanced air-flow convection fan to provide even heat distribution for single and multi-level roasting and baking. The oven includes telescopic glide shelves and soft-motion door hinges. Triple-glass door.
We chose to upgrade to brass burners for more consistent heat distribution. The burners and stove is being calibrated for an altitude of 6100 – 6200 ‘ above sea level before it leaves the factory in Italy.
