Jake and his family wanted to visit the North 40 and in order to make the money work, I drove out with the grandkids and Ash. We drove to Columbia, MO the first day, Oacoma, SD the second day, and had a relatively short drive on the 3rd day to Keystone, SD.
We spent the rest of that day visiting Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial. A big moment for me, as a grandmother, was watching the “Presenting of the Colors” ceremony at Mt. Rushmore and saying the pledge of allegiance and singing the national anthem. It was a patriotism lesson for the littles.
