After a crazy week, it was good to get up on the Blue Ridge Parkway and do a little bit of hiking in the sunshine. We started at the bottom where Hwy 150 intersects the parkway and hiked up the steep part first.
- Distance: 3.9 Miles
- Elevation Gain: 1430 ft.
- Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous
The parkway was very busy with car traffic and there were a several people on the trail that we chose. With the Coronavirus scare, all of the restaurants and movies are closed. I guess the locals needed a place to go and get away from the madness without putting themselves at risk of catching the virus.
Being out in the fresh air with sunshine raised our spirits considerably. Nature is the best therapy and the sun is the ultimate disinfectant.
